About

10421636_523002307802218_676683468098411729_nI’m just a girl with purple hair. I offer no excuses for who I am, what I do, how I feel, and my approach to life.

I lead my life with an open heart and an open mind, completely governed by my heart. I live simply, honestly, and most of all; I am happy. I spend my days empowering others to advocate for themselves, live fully, and to be dare to be better than they were the day before. I work with disadvantaged youth in urban Los Angeles as an English teacher and though the work is hard, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Trust me, I tried to run away from my calling. I fought it and I fought myself hard, but in the end, my essential self is as a teacher.

In addition to teaching Literature, I spend my evenings and weekends continuing the work I do with my students by promoting a healthy lifestyle at One Down Dog and Equinox. I am a 200-hour RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher), Buti® instructor, and certified in Schwinn Indoor Cycling®.

Down Dog SISU IronI take my commitments and work seriously. I do not believe in partially doing something. I mean, how you do anything is how you do everything. I give everything I tackle in my life 100% of my energy, effort, and most of all, my heart.

This blog is my journey through life celebrating love. This blog is my journey filled with passion. This blog is my journey that you have all been part of and this is no longer my story, but this is our story.

I hope you live a life you’re proud of.

  1. Hello. Just read your ‘New Year, Same You’ entry…I found it very inspirational in starting the New Year off right! I actually started my ‘new year’ last year by volunteering; something that I was very active before.

    Thank you for the inspiration.

    1. Hi Rich! Thank you for stopping by, reading, and sharing. Volunteering is such a wonderful thing and benefits both the person volunteering and helps one’s community as well. Keep up the good work, keep reading, and keep me posted on your efforts in the New Year! Best wishes in 2015!

  2. Hi Arielle, Just wanted to reach out and tell you that I think your posts are awesome. I have taken your class before at ODD, you were actually one of my first LA yoga experiences, and I still remember the mantra you were repeating in that class. It has become one of my favorite intentions to date!

I just stumbled across your blog and read your entry ‘Stripped’ from this past summer—so incredible. Thanks for sharing and keeping it real. I too have a very athletic, non “typical” yogini body and have felt some of the same fears or insecurities you have given voice to. Keep it coming : )

    1. Hi Allison,
Thank you so much for taking the time to read AND comment! I am glad that I was able to share something with you that has transcended the yoga room and found meaning in your life. Subscribe and follow my blog, find me on insta, and stay posted on the work I am doing. Come back to class and re-introduce yourself :-) Om Shanti.
